Absynth 2 has been my main instrument for donkeys years now (ok, not quite years.. just over a year) and it'll be great to get rid of the edit windows and have it all in one. Pretty stoked about the unison feature too.Front Line Assault wrote:yeah i just got absynth two days ago. its pads make me think of how beautiful life really is. i was in complete euphoria.
if you don't have Absynth 3.. get it!
I uploaded a bank to the user library the other day - Acolmiztli's Whore In Church bank. Go check it out

What do you mean "does it sound better" ??? I wasn't aware there were problems with the way it sounded!
If you mean does it make "trancelead number 4" or "that Ferry Corsten sound" then yes, its quite capable of doing that. Even more so with the unison feature introduced into Absynth 3.
If you mean does it provide me with more tools to make my own patches? Yes, of course it does.
If you mean does it go "whackykahaaakkakkoooo....eeeee" ... then yes, I imagine with practice it can do that.
I did a patch yesterday that sounds like a life support machine.

I picked up my Abs3 update today. When I loaded it up in Live I
noticed that it let you route audio to it from other tracks. Then I
read on the NI site that you can use it to process audio in. So I set
up some routing in Live, directing audio from the Darbuka VST into
Absynth. I have to say the results were astounding. I was just playing
around but what came out was amazing! In addition to the Audio In from
Darbuka I set one oscillator to sample and used a flute loop I had. I
also routed unprocessed Darbuka audio to another audio track. The
result is that whenever I press my Midi controller Absynth kicks in
with this delay processing and flute sound, when I let go it melts
away into the unprocessed audio. The sound processing possibilities of
this boggles my mind.
