Sampler question

Post by el_camello » Tue Oct 26, 2010 2:39 am

is there a toggle-able option in sampler to make it so that no matter what the input note is, it plays the root note (or a defined note)?

kinda like how a drumrack takes a midi note only to filter to a pad, THEN sends a new pitch.

i know there is a million and one ways to accomplish this using scale or other tools, but for my idea it would need to be in sampler itself.

I'm no Live expert, so there may be a more elegant way to do this, but if you duplicate the Zone 128 times, then right click in the key zone area and choose 'Distribute Ranges Equally', this will create a zone on every key, with the root note being that key, so no matter what note you play on the keyboard, it will always be the root note of the sample.

Edit: nevermind what I just wrote. I had a look into Sampler and there is an option on the Sample page for Scale. Set this to 0% and it will always play the same pitch
