Izotope Nectar

Post by shimmy » Sun Nov 07, 2010 4:26 pm

Anyone excited about this upcoming vocal all-in-one plugin?
I'm jumping on the introductory price before it sky rockets.

http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/nectar/

Nectar will be offered at $299 USD. An introductory price of $199 USD will be offered for the first 30 days after release, currently scheduled for mid-November, 2010.

it's well known around here that live is not capable of quality vocals. otherwise,we'd hear more songs recorded with live and vocals.

point me to at least one song made with live with good sounding recorded vocals. then, i'd shut my mouth.

Are you really this stupid or is it some kind of joke?

I run a commercial studio with Live as my DAW - I record bands - with lots of vocals.

This is one of the bands I have worked with - check it out - all recorded in Live:

You are a troll.

What if it's the guy behind the hammer who doesn't know how bang a nail correctly?

Never been disapointed with plugins from Izotope. Nectar should be another great tool! :)

Oh, so live has a pitch correction plug I somehow just never noticed??

Dude -- at least read through its features before you make your assertions!

Also, your logic assumes that the quality level of said FX is equal across all DAW's and plug-in products. By that logic, I wouldn't need my Sonnox Limiter because Live added a limiter in Version 8. Riiiiiight.

Nectar is a good idea for those who don't have the tools it provides already.

With me having Cubase 5 (which has both Melodyne type editing 'variaudio' and Autotune type pitch correction), plus owning Voxengo's 'Voxformer' plugin (which has 2 compressors, one of which can be set to de-ess, gating, saturation and other features), and having expensive tools from Sonalksis such as dynamic EQ (which is also great for de-essing), and 3 or 4 good limiters, this purchase would be redundant for me, but I think it's a smart tool to have it all combined in one plugin interface for those who don't have it.

As for Live and vocals. This was an obvious trolling attempt which does not dignify a response ! (However, Mr. Kelloggs is correct that about 95% of the music in the Link Your Music section is instrumental with the odd vocal sample(s) and devoid of real recorded vocals).
