but to mark especialy good points we can mention the elastic audio but not the groovee extraction/ templates..

as said.. the extraction has an economy implementtion that avoided an own algorythm for the extraction of groove points..they just use the auto warp algo... so its a halfbaked implementation again.
And the feature itself is an age old daw standard on the midi side and even very old on the audio side..

all major daw´s have this fuctionality since before live even has started...

so its not a strong point..It was a week point up to L8...
well..I can only agree with you on that one..let's hope it will continue to be better in Live 9

cheers, mate :)

you can insert silence via a drop down menu !!

sounds simple.. but try to insert a defined amount of silence in another daw and you will see that this is not so trival as it sounds in the first place.. But often that is just what you want.. no sound for 4 bars please....ok..make it 32

@
in general i like the basic arrange comands in live..duplikate time for example..other daw´s can do that aswell .but the simplicity here was part of the initial live concept that has taken me over. To have it all in just a few logical commands..so that even the way to the drop down menu was somehow faster than deciding between xyz options to achive the simple goal to let something run a longer or shorter period of time..

so insert silence is defenetly a live speciaity worth to mention

now wait a minute..
you open a thread where you invite people to post their opinions..
someone says he likes Live's groove, has plenty of experience with Logic's groove, but still thinks Live's better..
then you dictate him what he can think or not..

shall we first PM you so you can screen our opinions before posting?

3phase, don't fill this thread with critiques, that's not its purpose. just like you don't want anything else BUT critique in your critique thread (which mostly only you fill, unlike here where everyone contributes).

and btw, the groove works great. it might be that the transient detector doesn't work great, but the groove just uses that for groove detection. nothing's wrong with that.
