Re: iMS20 !!!
that's competitive pricing for you, plus less piracy, plus fishing for people's pocket-money/disposable-income....and maybe a smidgen of Apple guidance - but I'm not sure about that. There was an iPhone app created by an 'artist' that simply added the background image of a ruby to the phone. It was $999 if I recall correctly, but apple removed it after some negative press. if i recall correctly.3phase wrote:Thats by order from Apple or?
So...I have a feeling apple don't set the prices.

Re: iMS20 !!!
I wonder if it's the same engine as the MS-20 VST plug-in. Probably mostly the same. That one is actually my least favorite of the Korg legacy collection, which I own. I don't feel the MS-20 plug-in sounds that authentic either, but I don't know the MS-20 very well.
Poster, was it you that made a bunch of MS-20 style presets with Ableton's analog? Those were really good and actually sounded more authentic than the MS-20 plug-in I thought.

Professional Shark Jumper.
Re: iMS20 !!!
Interesting to note that if you look for this on the app store on your iphone it won't come up because it's only available for the iPad.
Unlike with fucking beatport that will let you check out shit all day long that you can't buy because of regional restrictions.

you remember those?! Glad you like 'em..glitchrock-buddha wrote:Poster, was it you that made a bunch of MS-20 style presets with Ableton's analog? Those were really good and actually sounded more authentic than the MS-20 plug-in I thought.
anyway.. this iMS20 doesn't even come close to the best Reaktor emulation.. which is the best I have ever heard..
listen to those Soundcloud demo tunes: all filter action is more Roland than Korg.. 'Keep On Bleepin' could as well be a 303..
the MS20's typical character is for 99% because of its HPF/LPF in series filters, both with independent resonance control..
I don't hear that in any of those demos.. marketing fail or its simply not capable of doing it at all..
Re: iMS20 !!!
Yes it does have HPF/LPF filters in series (with resonance).Poster wrote:the MS20's typical character is for 99% because of its HPF/LPF in series filters, both with independent resonance control..

I have to agree that so far this is the best iOS music app by miles. I love the fact that the drum souds are created using the synth engine. The GUI is fantastic. It's actually much more enjoyable using this than the Korg Legacy collection MS20 controller (which I also own). Just need some way of syncing this with Ableton and I'm in heaven.
Re: iMS20 !!!
my bad.. I meant not getting that specific character from the HPF/LPF compared to the real deal..grimleyj wrote:Yes it does have HPF/LPF filters in series (with resonance).Poster wrote:the MS20's typical character is for 99% because of its HPF/LPF in series filters, both with independent resonance control..
