I'm a guitarist and have started dabbling in electronic mainly due to ableton but anyways I recently saw what Christopher Willits does. He was just such an inspiration for myself and I was wondering if there were any other Ableton artists that used their guitars. Thanks.

Not yet... still trying to get everything right (a never-ending task it seems...)

RME fireface 400. Pretty much any interface with instrument level inputs will work. I live in an apartment so miking an amp isn't really an option yet.

I record all manner of instruments with Ableton Live. Real and unreal.
Here's some slide guitar.

mm, i can't stand my interface's preamps for guitars. but then again I grew up playing through tube amps so I'm probably being anal.

My most
guitarish track before I got side-tracked by the ukulele.
I used to use an old Line6 Pod till I got GRig, not sure which is best, GRig is versatile and pretty fkn great, but the Pod can be stuck in a gig bag and used live a bit easier than my monster sized desktop. YMMV.
I just use a cheap MAudio Fastback Pro audio interface but it does me well enough, one day I will get a proper audio box that can do 96k tho

my goodness, your stuff is brilliant. Curious where do you gig? And how do people take it? I come from a band background where it'd be high energy and I'm wondering if playing ambient music live is a good idea.

There are lots of guitarists who use Live. Including myself. Although sometimes, with Live, I tend to get more carried away with synths and FX.
However, there is prominent guitar on the following tracks, which are various electronic fusions.
http://umbrielrising.bandcamp.com/
album : extraterrestres - tracks 3,4,6,8,12,13 (this album was produced with Live 5, Live 6 and the odd Reason rewired and feels very old now) !
wunda - tracks 6 (in the final portion of the track),7
retrosonique - tracks 3,4
littoral awakening (maxi single) - track 4
Or my alternative rock project, all tracks.

Which is also composed and arranged in Live.
Check out Pasha, Homebelly, UKRuss and plenty of others as well.

I've found the perfect results with an digital daw is layers and a good amp sim. I have used no mics amps at all in my album. (Which will be out on the 20th). With enough tweaking you can get a good tone quickly.
IMO Amplitube has it over Guitar Rig but the downside is that Amplitube LOVES the Ram.
Anyway check out my website for results.
