Don't know if I can sneak any new toys past the wife. We are saving for a bigger and better apartment here and the shit ain't gonna be cheap. So she is tight as fuck wit our moneys....

I did manage to get 2 new goodies lately.

An old Technics SL12000 mk3
and an Akai MFC42

For the wishlist it goes something like this:

- Access Virus Indigo - I'm kicking myself because I saw one on Yahoo Auction for $950. Freaking beautiful. I just didn't have the money at all.....FUCK MY LIFE!!
- Innerclock Systems sync thingy
- Maschine
- A new laptop
- My new PCB board to FINALLY come in for my ACP40.....

In reality I'll be getting:
- BMX bike from my wife.

Halfway OT but I need some gear help so if you'd all be so kind...

I'm doing music/sound installation for an art opening in January. Inspired by some of the music linked in the "Ableton Guitarists" thread, the fantastic new Brian Eno record which features piano & guitar, and a friend who played guitar thru an old Fender tape delay at an art opening this past weekend, I've decided to play live guitar at this event in January. I'm thinking 1 or 2 drone/pad tracks, 1 piano track (sometimes played live), and guitar/live looping stuff over the top. So...

I'll need a stomp compressor to control overall levels (ebow involved). Any suggestions? A friend suggested this:

Also, I'll need some sort of modulation pedal. I have the older non-midi Moog MURF pedal, and the other pedals I'll probably use are a Moog analog delay, Holier Grail reverb, Fulltone OCD, Big Muff, and an Electro Harmonix 2880 4 track looper (not midi synced either). I was thinking of checking this one out:

Sorry the picture is so large and this post is so long :( Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Early gift for myself, coming in a few days:

Maschine

What can I say, I just want to have this sexy machine. Tried to talk myself out of buying it because of the steep price (555 € is a lot of money), but it just didn't work. Can't wait to hit that!

Will be buying this stuff for xmas:

Echo Audiofire 4

My first audio interface. Think it's not gonna disappoint me!

Allen & Heath Xone 22

Have been mixing internally in Traktor Pro, but I really like the idea of mixing externally. Plus, I heard the filter was awesome, and I think of running some of my tracks through it and recording it again to get some analogue flavor. Can't wait for this one either!

SM Pro Audio M-Patch 2

I'm really sick of setting the volume in Windows. I want some hands-on control for that, and while this is certainly not the best quality, it doesn't seem to color the sound at all (apart from the slight stereo volume differences, which I can live with), it is affordable and has 2 ins, 2 outs.

Jones & Dum,

Yeah it's a bit pricey but its very small and very portable.
I was considering getting it to replace my bcr2000 to make a much more portable setup.
Its not the price thats put me off, its the closeness of the knobs - itd be hard to label stuff.
Whereas the BCR2000 has lots of space for overlays/stickers.

At the moment i'm trying to get my music out of the studio and able to be played live at gigs.
I've been looking at lots of different options, had an Akai APC40 for a weekend but it just "wasnt the way i work".

I'm thinking of getting the Novation Zero SL Mk2 because of all the different interfaces
- keep the right sliders for master/effects on master/Main EQ
- then keep all the knobs and buttons on the left for controlling parameters of instruments/effects in seperate tracks.

backmasking doesn't work so much when you're actually typing the words out. guess our brains are a little smarter when we see then when we hear.
