Who's up for Octatrack?

I might, not sure yet. Clips are somewhat intriguing but I'm going to wait for user testimonials to see if the thing offers something really unique. By watching the information slides on their site I haven't really been able to make my mind yet. The Octatrack, due DEC 20th.

not sure if the Octatrack is a good example in well done advertising
or if this gadget is a good one in means of workflow.

I´ll wait, to hear what the reviewers are saying

I see it like a Ableton Live Intro:
-8 audio stereo tracks
-8 midi tracks
-2 effects per track
-16 patterns (16 scenes?)
-no Synths
,,,
with dedicated hands-on control: lots of buttons and knobs.

Am I wrong?

If you've gone deep with either the Monomachine or Machinedrum, you'll know that it's going to have incredible possibilities!

you forgot a midi controller with the same functions mapped out. so maybe intro plus apc 20?

That said, i would love to get my hands on any of the elektron stuff, so many fans out there, and the products hold there value very well, (check ebay)

I have to say that the heart of our rig is Ableton Live of which I am unashamedly a "fan boy" (I still have my version 1 installer CD!! ).

That being said, no matter what controller we've used (tried almost all of them), nothing beats the immediacy and the feel of our Elektrons (YMMV). That's why we are so excited about the Octatrack.

Looks like junk to me. It doesn't have any groud breaking or advanced sampling features. I wanted a lot more than just slice and it looks like you have to use param locks to program with slice you want to play. This doesn't really improve upon just automating start points of a sample. Pretty disappointed, but I am not the biggest fan. I have a MachinedrumUW and it sits in the box while I use Electrify on ipad(Granted with about 2000 samples I made using the machinedrum). Maschine/Intua's Beat Maker 2 are on my want list WAY ahead of this.
