Increase/decrease parameter value by +1 / -1 at a time?
I'm sure this has been covered, but after an hour of searching I admit defeat!
What I want to do is set up two buttons on a MIDI controller. One to increase a parameter value by one with each push. The other to decrease it by one with each push.
Any thoughts?
Cheers!

relative midi assignments.. value below 64 is decrease, above 64 is increase..
basically you assign 2 buttons to the same MIDI CC - button 1 will send under 64 and button 2 will send over 64.. I would assume that the farther away from 64 you go, the higher the increase/decrease..
Just tried it with touch osc and an ipod..
Button 1 sending CC 64 - value 63
Button 2 sending CC 64 - value 65
limited the MIDI min and max to 80 and 208 - which makes up 128, so you get 1 bpm every time. and also selected Relative(BinOffset) on the bottom status bar..
only problem I have found is that you have to keep tapping it to increase or decrease a lot.. but it does work

Cheers mate will try this out.
The stepping through things slowly is fine for my needs - just what I need in fact.
Thanks again!

I try to do it without making the person feel like they're in kindergarten.. not trying to explain it to you like your 5, just trying to be thorough, and also it's easier to explain myself this way..Leon Tricker wrote:Cheers mate will try this out.

What 2 buttons are you trying to map to +1 and -1 ? if it's something that you can program not only the MIDI CC and channel but also the values that they send then you should be good .. not going to work out on the APC40 or anything like that unless you use some workarounds

I don't know why I didn't think of that, I just got it yesterday FFS!transology wrote:clyphX !!

setup clyphx and you'd map 2 buttons to the 2 clips, but with Select on Launch you're going to always switch to those clips when they are triggered but I believe there is a fix for that included in the ClyphX manual that involves some python editing but it's pretty straight forward, cheers

It's been a long time... But is there any chance that you published it on m4l or on this site?
Thx
