Does video rendering work!?!?!?

Post by photonal » Thu Dec 09, 2010 2:25 pm

So I've been trying to render a quicktime movie from Live 8.2.1 and also from 7.0.18 and it constantly crashes.

(5+ Crash logs from 8.2.1 sent to Ableton today)

Does this feature actually work?

+ What is also *very* annoying is that I can't record the screen output properly because of the little white 'resize' handle on the bottom-right hand side of the video window!?!?!? aaaagggghhhhhh!!

I've had no trouble using .avi and .wmv files - maybe try converting?

try updating quicktime to the most recent version if you haven't already.

Good advice from those two. seriously.

But It only made my crashes drop from 100% to about 65%
when rendering video in ableton.

Small edits are the killer for me.

After *a lot* of crashes (crash reports sent to Ableton) in 7.0.18 (and the 8.2.1 Demo!!) I eventually found a workaround and managed to reclip using Live:
