Echo Indigo I/O major problems

Post by Emissary » Tue Jan 11, 2005 12:03 pm

Hello it's me again with more problems :(

I have just taken order of my echo indigo I/O. But it seems to have a major problem. I have followed th installation procedure correctly and on installing my drivers , rebooting the computer and inserting the card , my computer has an instant crash. The screen flickers and somthing starts making a clicking nosie . This is a new pentium 4 3ghz H/T laptop (about 3 months old)

Does anyone have any idea's about this? I am pretty peeeeeved to say the least.

Thanks for your time guys

regards Emissary

Yes, contact Echo and ask them to send you a copy of the ENE Cardbus fix, this should fix your problem.

The best is to ask Echo support, they are very good.

If it's saying Generic cardbus, maybe you don't have the proper drivers installed? Just an idea....

Hey

Yeah the drivers were not installed properly. So I installed them and then realised i did have an ene card. So i searched around the net for the bug fix, which i found, but it still didnt work. And then the nice people at echo sent me an application that was supposed to help. but has had not effect. So i did i complete reinstall of xp (which means i will probably have to reauthorise live (and I bet I have run out of unlocks)) and tried the whole lot again....and it still doesnt work. so i have spent the whole of the day of tuesday basically try to make something work that was never going to work anyway. so I am slightly annoyed to say the least.

But thanks for all your help all who have replied , it was much appreciated :D

i've just ordered a indigo dj card - but i was told it wouldnt arrive until early feb. the reason stated that all indigo dj cards have been withdrawn due to a fault which they are correcting, with batches due to ship in feb. i've still paid for the card and now have to wait. i dont know how true this statement is can anybody back this up?

I use an IO and DJ card with no issues whatsoever now. I initially had the ENE cardbus problem, but the small app from Echo fixed that right away. I can run Live with the Indigo Latency down as far it will go with not a single click or pop.

More than anything, it all depends on the laptop, not the cards. The Indigo range has been getting excellent reviews everywhere, aside from the occasioanl odd user who runs into issues.
