Dedicated Video Memory
So I'm looking at getting a new laptop for dj/production, and I've never looked at PCs with music in mind before, just games, and if I don't plan on doing video DJing is it gonna bite me in the ass if my laptop has tons of shared memory but no dedicated video RAM? I'm going to be running Live + Scratch. Sorry for the noob question, just want to make sure I'm well equipped

I just wouldn't risk it.
Well, having said that if you're running a 4 track set with an equal number samples, and no plugins that have fancy graphics, you may be alright.
