Ableton says THANKS with two free Live Packs........

Post by Sibanger » Wed Dec 22, 2010 11:44 pm

Have fun playing with the Packs, but make sure not to use them commercially.
Errr, I'm usually quite positive about any free gifts etc, but this just seems to be spam promotion and not a gift at all.

I can't see the point.

Maybe I'm just a bit pissed off this morning cause I had to send off another crash report.....

I know, I know, if ya don't like it, don't download it, but still.

I see that Native Instruments and Alchemy are giving away real gifts this Xmas. :)

I canceled my download when I read that. I agree, totally pointless.

well I say thanks to ableton casue live 8 has become what I always wanted since live4

...finally, a pretty good feature set, workflow is a charm, I happy to stay there forever. But do not tempt me with V9's juicy features!

What makes it worse to me, is that more than half of these so called 'gifts' songs are tracked-out, pre EQ'd and pre FX'd... I mean literally they could have come from any program. One of the songs (i think it was the last group of songs) had a bunch of fx and eq's that were almost all set to....ZERO. They were there for the looks and didn't process anything. So these songs (that I can't use any part of) don't even help me learn anything about Live. I have cut off all fx and devices in some of these 'gifts' and there was no/minimal audible difference (not all the songs, but enough to get pissed off about)

maybe the packs or artist packs in general dont suck as demo but to call it a christmas present is really rather spaming.

I should think 80% off M4L would have been a step in the right direction in terms of a proper Christmas present.

first off I can't stand the idea of these kinds of Live Packs to begin with; pure-magnetik style preset patches and FX are cool to download, but these ones Ableton keeps doing, where you just open a track built by some douche? Who cares! And now to tack on "no commerical use" additionally....wow...truly, thanks for Nothing.

worst gift yet.

and wow, i've officially joined the whiners with this one? guess I'm getting old and bitter or something. Live 9 should cure that...
