Hi there

I am looking for max patch/python script/something to make my APC40 act as a step sequencer.

Have you got any recommendations? :)

Thank you

Best regards Nikolaj

you could just use the CS step sequencer for basic stuff. I really like using Molar Vst with the Monomulator for that stuff quite a bit.

I think the step sequencer in Hanz Petrov's script is pretty full and comprehensive.

Not only do you get that wonderful step sequence but add to it all of the additional functionality Hanz has brought to the APC40 and you're golden.

Well, yes, indeedy. It makes the APC40 what it should have been anyway.

Steppers,

The Hanz Petrov script Is really amazing, but i really am a bit sad about the fact that it takes away the posibillity to press two buttons at once. Pressing a row of buttons in one gesture seems essential to me for intuitive step sequencing.
I suggested this funtion on Hanz' blog but it seems he is not replying to any new post anymore...

Also is anybody using this script together with monomulator? I think it is not possible.

ironic cause with the script the conytroller is a lot better than the apc40 as out the box

I've got a weird problem that maybe someone who uses it could clear up for me.

When I use Hanz's script if I create anything more than 5 extra audio tracks it stops working!

Can somebody just see if this happens to anyone else, it would really help, (I posted on another thread and got nothing)

thanks

Hi kotzer,

Sorry I've not been keeping up with the blog comments recently, and although I do visit this forum on a pretty regular basis, I don't always have time to reply to posts.

In any event, yes, it would be nice to be able to press more than one button at a time in the step sequencer, and it should be possible for me to implement this change. However, it might take some time. I'll keep you posted.

Best,

Hanz

PS: The APC 64-40 script doesn't "take away" the possibility of pressing two buttons at once; how could it take away something which was never there to begin with? I prefer to think of it this way: the APC 64-40 script *adds* the possiblity of using the APC40 as a step sequencer via a simple remote script. ;)

PPS: I've been trying to get jimmynitcher's issue sorted out offline with jimmy directly, but if anyone has experienced any similar issues with the script, please let me know.

Hanz,

and other apc40 people,

Now that i talk to you in person, I'd first like to take oppertunity to thank you in person for the great script!
I plan to really learn to use the step sequencer, i think it is one of the best ones out there

For the 'two buttons at the same time'(and hope this is clear i try my best in English) :
what i mean is that with standard apc40 setup it Is possible to press a row of buttons in one gesture...
You can see pressing a row of buttons in one gesture in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jBl4o4U ... re=related
When the apc_64_40 script is loaded this is not possible.

(Also it would be nice if your script could be used together with the monomulator patch / functionality)

Thank you for your time.

Well it's working great on 10.6.7/8.2.2 - I guess 9 will come out next week and spoil it all!

I have a workflow problem though - how do you clear the clip that you use for inputting notes?

If I use a Note Mode then the step sequencer then I can't clear the notes as some may be out of its 5 semi-tone range.

Interested to hear how others use this script.
