They certainly look nicer. Used to have a Nano Kontrol but the graphics on the panel gave me headaches! The Pad now has 16 pads, which makes more sense than the old 12, and the Key looks like it now has rubber keys rather than those horrible laptop-keyboard type things!

All that said, I'm surprised they didn't come out with something like the Kontrol but with loads of knobs on it. Something like Livid's Code but smaller and cheaper. Something that could sit above the Kontrol maybe, so the two together give you a fader and row of rotaries for each channel. The Nano Knob! :D

Did they change the design of the plug for the usb-cable? All nanokontrols I have seen in the last two years did break their plug. Full fail of design for this otherwise fantastic cheapo-controller.

Shame it only runs on Windows 7 (for the PC users) though.

It certainly means I won't be upgrading until I need a whole new PC.

I simply can't be bothered to install a complete new OS and copy everything over, just so I can run Cubase!

Yeah, same thing with the new Pro Tools: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfser ... cId=380535 I wonder how much Mickeysoft is paying them for this ;)

I saw a comment today from someone at Ableton that they're working on 8.2.2 beta 2 at the moment (Well, technically he didn't say that. He said that they were working on "a new beta." However, 8.2.2 beta 1 is current, and it is hard to believe that the next beta before 8.2.2 final would be anything but 8.2.2 beta 2). This would strongly suggest no major announcement this weekend.
