Is there any forums on the net which cater for the avant-garde/industrial/noise side of music? I'm aware of i hate music, and noise guide, but was hoping to see is there any others? I've been on idm, and i'm not too into it.

I would hang at the Cycling '74 forum for starts. A lot of avant garde musicians are going to be drawn there and you would benefit from the Max/MSP talk that would be applicable for Max for Live work.

You might try soundasart, not a lot of activity but many members who respond if prompted, also the microsound list, furthernoise, and electro-music.com...all ok.
