I would say a good month I finish 2-3. A bad month none at all. It depends. It is a hard thing to finish your own art. I give myself deadlines, it helps somewhat.

However, no matter what song I have finished I never really like till at least six months later.

It is hard to get perspective on the song as a whole when you are focused for so long on the details.

i moved into a temporary situation recently for 2.5 months (about to be done) and am hoping to have FINISHED 3 new tracks in that time. this is about 3x my normal output (finish 1 song about every 3 months). Factors: 1) ill gates' ableton workshop 2) got rid of my TV and 3) living alone now.

i barely see friends but i'm getting shit done finally!

i wish i worked for the film industry cause i have a million snippets from the last 4 years (forget about the old hard drive and box of 4 track tapes from before that)

i guess writing music for me is like a garden..
i plant a bunch of seeds, weed, water, harvest, then til the soil and start over..
i'm fixing to come up on a harvest season

ideas, another 6 or so a mo and tbh most of the "5" i'm finishing a month are just ideas i've had from previous months, it's the most productive workflow i've found for myself

Don't know what the reason for this question is???

I usually do about 1/3 to 1/2, I could do more, but realistically I reject at least half my finished songs, and there is no real time frame.
I have a ton of ideas, but right now we're practicing to record the drum parts in a regular studio, so I'm staying away from writing and reading up on how Live and Digital Performer handle Automation to re-familiarize with it when it's time to get surgical.

One song we do I wrote in a day, another took about 5 months, it just depends on the song and whether the break comes to you, or fucking won't.
