Re: Is it possible to set effects on/off as momentary not toggle
I like my MPK25 buddied with my apc40/20 combo for exactly this reason. It has four assignable momentary buttons.
An easy solution, I accept perhaps not the cheapest...but there we go.
Used to have an old uc33e which could also be easily changed to momentary button config.

Agreed, given the number of discussions about this and looping I'm sure it'll get implemented in a future version of live, that'll be at the cost of an upgrade though so you pays your money and makes your choice as they say... The cheapest solutions out there include charlie roberts work or bomes for example...Mister36 wrote:I don't think buying Max for Live and then paying for an extra device/application is really a fair or particularly viable workaround for functionality that seems to me to be so fundamental.

It's true. We do pays our monies and makes our choices. And I would actually love to be able to do what I said wasn't a viable workaround really. As a student, I, like I'm sure a lot of people, don't have the spare cash to throw at such things.

i understand you feel buy for MFL+ device just to custom some midi hw is expensive.
of course a native solution would be cool. .
by waiting, if you have tiny clues about midi, i really advice you to check usine free vst, you can patch and transform any midi hw behaviours to math your wanted setup. you can build it relatively easyly and for free, 0 bucks, really awesome soft for such
custom contrellerism stuff, no equivalent imo.

Unfortunately (for this purpose), I am on a Mac.fx23 wrote:by waiting, if you have tiny clues about midi, i really advice you to check usine free vst, you can patch and transform any midi hw behaviours to math your wanted setup. you can build it relatively easyly and for free, 0 bucks, really awesome soft for such

Indeed, a native solution would be best. But I'm not against paying for extra functionality, especially if it's really worth it and a potential "game-changer", it's just that, unfortunately, for me, Max for Live is currently too expensive for me to justify the purchase. Though I don't really expect them to lower the price, despite how it could dramatically increase sales.fx23 wrote:i understand you feel buy for MFL+ device just to custom some midi hw is expensive.

Or you could just press the button twice, quickly.
Re: Is it possible to set effects on/off as momentary not toggle
destroyFX MIDIgater should work for this
Re: Is it possible to set effects on/off as momentary not toggle
I could have swore I was doing this with Live 5 & a Faderfox by selecting a preference after mapping the control, like absolute, bin offset, etc, in there with those choices. Could it be that the functionality was previously there & they removed it?

Incase anyone is still having this problem, here's a workaround to use in effect chains : I found you can assign your momentary button to a macro knob and assign that knob to what ever effect in your chain.
Hope this helps!
