Mic Latency Please Help!!!

Hello all. Im somewhat new to recording and ive run into a problem. When I record with my mic to Live 8 there is significant latency that completely throws the song off when I play it back. Im running my mic (which is a Sterling ST59) through an M-Audio Fasttrack Pro into my my Mac via USB chord. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to help :)

Could try freezing any elements with plug-ins on...

Beyond that whatever is the M-Audio's latency, is the latency...
