in hindsight they need to FIX things like 3rd party automation sync and basic Arrange view features that other DAWs have. fix some features, add some features, release, profit, repeat.

on that note will it ever be perfect?

meh, I'll go back to banging a rock with a stick.

I realise your question was probably rhetorical, but no. Perfection is impossible and a perfect product will never exist.

However...

I agree completely.

this is still software its going to crash for some people. i imagine it will be a couple more decades before software becomes as reliable as hardware.
If you want it stable like hardware, you got to treat it like hardware: Only use very few stable 3rd party plugs. And use the computer strictly for Live. Stay of the net! End of story. Only got one computer? No problemo: dual boot.

I use Live around the clock. Rock solid. The only thing that brings it down: ram abuse.
A plug has to click with me very well, and go through lenghty tests, to get permission to install on my studio system.

i think Ableton could benefit from starting something similar to NI's Traktor on the Record Sessions. That way it would let people talk to the developers directly and see what the problems are.

They do it for Maschine too and it is a very good idea. It might at least make users (who do feel this way) feel less isolated and despairing of their beloved program. You can see/feel the weight lifted each time an official does make a comment on these boards, albeit temporarily.

it,s strange thats its normal for software companies to release their new products with hundreds of bugs and problems.
for example if you buy a car and it,s got one structural problem the cars are going back to the factory to fix it.

Only if there's a risk of injury or death...

I don't know about you, but so far I've survived every software crash without so much as a scratch on me.
