Midi key set to "gate" and always on sight Midi mappings ?

Post by Tweaking Knobs » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:19 pm

Is there a way to set a midi keyboard key to gate ?

so , for example i got the letter "K" mapped to the "track activator" so if i press it now, it just turns it on , and then if i press it again it turns it on.

Image
i want to to turn it on or off only while the key is presses , so in gate mode.

Also , it would be cool to have a window where i can alwyas see my midi mapings , sometimes i press a key wich is mapped to a on/off of an effect , but sometimes i just dont know if the last time i pressed it it was on or off, so it would be usefull to have it always vivisible , so i know the effect is on o off.

This is the ol' momentary thing again, isn't it? I believe that you'll have to use some 3rd party device/app/program to get this functionality. ClyphX can certainly do it with MIDI input but not sure about just keystrokes. And I'm sure Bome's could do this too.

The ability to make any input momentary or toggle in the MID/KEY map mode would be very welcome.

Unnecessary diagram of the week. :D

The explanation was enough.

I did say it in the other thread but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. If you have a controller that has momentary buttons, or can have its buttons configured as momentary, then it's job done.

whoa no secret sorry. The diagram you posted with the enormous arrow pointing to the track activator. We kind of knew what you meant from the explanation you gave in words. :D

Other post link...

hold on.
