good morning michael:
i do not remember what club i visited in budapest back in 1990, but it was really neat. lot's of bar-space, plus plenty of dancing space and chillout space. when i visited the cure and depeche mode happened to be playing that night, one right after the other. it was robert smith's birthday and he bought me a beer. after the show a dj spun house, but this was 12 years ago. you'll LOVE budapest though. a beautiful place with nice people...and goulasch to eat.

Clubs
I was one year ago in Budapest and I was in a club called "Véz Balcon" or something similar pronounced. It is in an industrial area on the side of the Gellertbad. There I listened to some nice D'n'Bass music and had some nice cocktails.
I met there the guys of Random Soundz, Drum 'n' Bass artists. You can contact them via contact@subscope.com. The electronic music scene in Budapest is not that big so this is the best possibility to get informations about non-tourist clubs.
Have fun there, R.
