newbie problems loading wav.... tempo issues

hi all ,
im trying to mix a rap voc track in a demo version of live to check if it might suit my needs .
all i wanna do is mix the wav of the beat i made in nis maschine with the vocals recorded in adobe 3.0.
im running into 2 problems .
1.however i try to load the vocal wav (drag , or click from desktop......)... the first seconds of the voc wav is automatically cut off by ableton....this is always with every acapella.
it doesnt happen with the beat wav though
2. ableton seems to detect the tempo automatically.... but it seems it gives the beat n the acapella different tempi , mean it detects the beat right with 96 bpm , but the vocals seem to be time stretched in a weird way.

any ideas , sry im new to ableton and this might be a total rookuie question.
is there any option i have uncheck that i can give in the tempo manually and that leaves the start point and tempo of my wav untoucvhed ?
if i load both in adobe ... it works

Yes, you can turn off auto-warping.

ty , that solved my tempo issues ... nice
still a lil part of the acapella start is cut off , but i can solve that by adding a few seconds in adobe..
txs again , auto warp was the basic prob

Regarding the start being cut off, just have a look at the waveform and move the start-point marker to the very beginning of the sample?
