Re: What headphones do you use?
Thanks all for your feedback, this morning i unpacked the pair of Shure SRH840. It is not as comfortable as MDR-7509, but sounds good enough and is cheaper then 7509 and it is not too uncomfortable. My only complaint so far is that all brands except Ultrasone and Beyerdynamic are made in china, regardless of the price tag. Unfortunately Beyerdynamics had very mixed reviews, almost as many complaints as praises and Ultrasone 750 was too pricey for me.
Interestingly enough SRH840 does not differ in sound from my cheap and not-so-great monitors while sounding good(does that make any sense???)

beyerdynamic dt250
i pretty much do all my production/mixing on headphones until the very final stage.
pretty much because i screw around with sounds that would piss people off

A little update on my new SRH840.
A little update on my new SRH840. I am mainly comparing them to MDR-7509. So the design is a little odd, especially the wires that run on the outside of the bend.
Comfort - way better then HD280 pro, but nowhere as comfortable as 7509, headache after about an hour and an unpleasant pressure on top of the head after 35-45 minutes(i am sensitive).
I would not say that i am unhappy with SRH840 at all, but next time i will likely go with MDR-7509HD again.

Re: What headphones do you use?
I just upgraded my beat to shit/gone gone to hell and back AKG K-44s with Sennheiser HD280 and I'm loving them. I'm still getting used to the sound, the AKGs were more mid heavy while the HDs make the sound more open. The isolation they provide is amazing, and it has already come in handy a few times. I need them both for on stage monitoring and as a reference for mixing and they deliver on both fronts.

Love my Shure SRH840s!!!!... Found out that my 7506s were not working the day I had a Deejay gig(thats how long I go between my "old school gigs), so I called the 840s up for nightclub duty, and was surprised how well they worked in that environment! Hope you enjoy them!!!!
