Live Set from Last Night in Cinci, done in Live 4.1

Post by AdamJay » Wed Jan 26, 2005 5:32 pm

hey folks, had a gig last night at Natural in Cincinnati (USA).
This was the first time i've played out using Live for other folks material, and not just a Live PA of my own material. I was doing Live/DJ sets with Live 4 and Final Scratch simultaneously in the past, but i find doing it all in Ableton makes it a bit more intuitive and gives me more control (especially pre-production by way of doing some edits to my favorite tracks).

anyway, enough blabbering.. here's the set:

Downloading now. Looks like a great set list. Cant wait to listen.

One of my favorite tracks is on the list... Dexter's I Program. Interested to see how the mixes with Funkstorung.

Will most likely throw this into rotation on my pirate fm broadcast.

I like the way you've tarted up the top row of knobs. thats a good idea. i know them just by feel now, but still sometimes if you're hand is in the wrong position you find yourself counting over 1-2-3 to be sure you have the right one. the paint makes a different.

i too have utilized the ole silver Sharpie for the arrow pointers on the knobs.

not sure about the stickers though....reminds of the kids who put the 'Team Tercel' stickers on their Toyota Tercel..... hehe (along with a ridiculous stuck on fin at the back)

Cache - Silver Nail polish actually, it lasts much longer than silver sharpie. The stickers, well those have been on for a year and a half... tried peeling them off a long time ago and it had all the gooey stuff underneath, so they're staying for the time being. =)

UDP - Glad ya like the set. I play in detroit every few months. I may be back up in March, pending some final agreements.

Sqook - Throwing a party with DJ Surgeon in Indy on Sunday Feb 13th. He will also be using Ableton. its $5 @ Bourbon Street Distillery.
