Intel 855GM Vs PM Vs GME Chipsets

Post by lunabass » Sat Jan 29, 2005 12:22 am

Hey,

I'm a slightly nervous mac guy thats about to take the plunge into uncharted waters (for me anyway) and buy a PC (Dell Inspiron Notebook).
I'm wondering if anyone knows which of the Intel Centrino chipsets (855GM, PM or GME) is best for use or has a better record of reliability with Ableton Live users.

Cheers

My Dell uses the 855PM chipset and no complaints here. :) 2.0ghz Pentium M, 1ghz ram, 60gig 7200rpm hdd.

I thinking getting a Mac once the powerbooks are updated. Or if Live would support dual processors I would'nt mind owning a Dual G5 desktop.

I went an ordered a Dell 9200 2.0ghz. There has been good results over on the DUC using this machine with Pro Tools which I also use...if it can run a fussy program like Pro Tools then it can probaly run anything 8O
