Subtractive Synthesis using operator. Creating an 80's sound

Hey guys,
Im Fairly new to making my own sounds and I wanted to know how to make this 80's escalating high pitch sound in operator.

Im pretty sure its a sine wave with something.....Just not sure how to create it. If anyone can help me out, link a tutorial or send me a preset I would appreciate it alot. It's driving me crazy.

The effect you hear is a glide effect and you can apply it to almost any Operator preset that has a sustained sound.

You'll find the Glide in the Pitch section of the Operator.

This creates the sound that pitches to the next played note in the specified Glide time.

The effect that makes it seem like it is only one note that is playing is a Legato effect. On the Operator it can be achieved by setting the Voices to 1. Meaning that only one pitch can be active at the time.

Hoffman that answer was very helpful, Thank you. The only part I'm left with is how do I make that specific sound. I don't need it to be exactly like those three but Im looking for something pretty darn close.

What the arrangement of oscillators?

and what type of waveforms and their levels?

The first one sounds like a Square. The second like a Saw.
I make the distinction because the glide of a square sounds a bit like a pop whistle (like sideshow bob) and the gliding of a saw sounds more like a buzzing sound.

Its a very simple one Oscillator sound. For the Eyes of Love track, probably a waveform like Saw 32.
A bit of lowpass filtering to take the edge off. Maybe a bit of LFO on the filter.
In the third track there is definitely a filter envelope.

Not sure if those pointers will help, I whipped up a quick clip to show the settings for the second example. Live 8.2.2 is required though. Definitely Live 8 because you want the new anti-aliasing activated on the Operator to reach those high tones.
