I'm happy to have the anti-glare again. But the glossy is nice too. I just can't stand the reflection.

Be carefull, 13" macbook pro models don't have quadcore, the biggest is still dual-corejamief wrote:(...)
But will be going for 13 inch macbook pro soon as this 18.4 thing is areal lump and i like to travel lite when touring
[i7 2.7ghz DUAL-CORE]
best

That's the nice thing about upgrading relatively infrequently - you *really* notice the speed jumps and maybe appreciate more the extra horsepower that a new machine brings.
I went from a Dual G5 to a Quad i7 so you can imagine how *nice* that is

what are the best options out there for folks wanting the power but not the big size?

i'm gonna go with... No.ambientidm wrote:as far as heating up shouldn't an ssd reduce that by a great deal?
i can see it reducing heat... but not by a great deal. hard drives don't get that hot. the processor is the real toaster in a computer. if you think about it, with the exception of those oversized tower cases you rarely see fans directly on the hard drives - near them yes, on them, almost never.

15" is the perfect balance. Smaller and the screen size is annoying. And it hardly takes more space than the 13.starving student wrote:what are the best options out there for folks wanting the power but not the big size?

the nature of my job has put me in contact with quite a few lap tops... 17" are great until you have to move em.
13" have a tendency to keep you scrolling.
15" seems to just be that sweet spot.

fudge i wish they had something available that was more like 11" but wider, I'm extremely partcial to lightweight laptops but will have to spend some time with the 15s at the store, i swear those apple employees make you want to bang their heads on the displays
