ok..thats quite a few allready.. but ok.. i will give them a shot.. also to see where the Melda really stands..its quite intriguing allready..and its allmost a free plug... As i understood the terms you have a high quality mode when you do the 30 europ upgrade..for a whole bundle that contains some other goodies too.. cant do much wrong there anyway...

but lets see.. i will let some of them run against each other....

for the EQuality users (and triallers) dont miss this really handy tip :
Control linking
Use Alt+Apple / Alt+Ctrl -click on a control to add it to the control-link-group. Use Shift+Alt+Apple / Shift+Alt+Ctrl -click on a control to add it to the anti-control-link-group.
Adjusting any control in the group will move all the controls that are in the group by the same amount, whilst adjusting any control in the anti-group by the opposite amount.
To take a control out of the group, Alt+Apple/Alt+Ctrl-click again.
A typical usage is for spectrum tilt:
Alt+Ctrl -click on Low-shelf gain
Shift+Alt+Ctrl -click on High-shelf gain
Now, turning up the high-shelf will turn down the low-shelf and vice-versa.

the competion against eq 8 is allready won for me by the free melda productions one.. i was suprised about the drastical outcome myself.. so i got currious where we stand with affordable external plugs wright now.

as far as i know eq 8 dont has internal oversampling or? at least it changes it sound quality on higher samplerates..so i guess its just 1:1 rate..or?

i think eq8 uses oversampling of you put it in HQ mode (right click the title bar of the plug)

ok.. but it defnetly dont trys to emulate analog filter behaviour..and thats beneficial for a stage eq as we all know.. especially when you run a whole drumset thru just one channel..

i had some rather nasty revelations when i lately tried to mix my 808 thru live in realtime.. the fx work nicely..no question about that.. but for the general equing my ibanez live mixer does a much better job.. and when carry the mixer with you anyway..you need the hardware fx too..and than it gets heavy again..

so i am defently for dirty tricks in filter algos..

when i last really mixed in the box around 2002 this was my favorite too...

and renisance vox as sum compressor ;-).. but never had own waves plugs because they was to expensiv.so i went hardware again and got a neumann mixing desk

38.-is in a comprehensiv range here so it should be in the test field... but its still thos ilok shit they are using?

i dont use dongled software on stage..and especialle i wont include a dongle just for an eq plug in

+1 Fabfilter Pro Q. Plugin I use most by far. The new update is excellent. Notch filter, pre & post visualizer at the same time and a surprisingly useful solo option.
