Your link doesn't work dude, but 9 times out of 10 if someone is asking for more "intensity" in a general sense, it means you just need to get better at production. Just keep practicing, read up on EQs, compression, sends/returns, mastering...every aspect of production in general.

I think soundlayering and modulation is the key. In live we have racks so you can stack up bass sounds. Your role model track uses sidechain compression (almost) over the top. I seem to get headaches from it listening to it after 3 mins, but maybe these days it has to be like this.

The drum samples you use need to be stronger with more emphasis on the kick frequencies. They don´t have enough punch and are too quiet compared to the other stuff regarding this style of production.
djvespers has a great tutorials explaining why good drum samples are needed.http://www.youtube.com/user/DJVespers#p ... a39zTpPpFc

I think it suits your needs. Also parallel compression, ny compression might help. There are some good videos on youtube.

Also you like pads and their volume is a little bit to high. They soak up the room for your other melodic elements. Try to push them back a little in your mixes and the drums will become stronger in the listener´s perception.

Your feel for melodic changes is your strength at the moment, so you are more musician than producer. And it´s better this way than the other way around. Sound design and mixing is more of an experience thing while having the sense for melodies is more a question of intuition and an artistic feeling. So talent is there, knowledge comes with testing new things, training your mixing skills and learning synth methods and sound layering.

Hope it helps.
