arkaos is very simple and a cool choice at first. very easy to link with live.
each midi note is a video clip or fx. you just set in/outs with your virtual ports (midiyoke, loopbe)

if wanna go deeper modular, i higly recommend ya Aestesis Elektronika. went free and is awesome.

also Modul8,resolume, VVVV or jitter, but istill prefer elektronika personally. simple but powerfull reason like
patching for lot of possibilities.

Another vote for Arkaos as a start. it is simple, yet i have seen people doing very lovely stuff with it.

What Im looking for is some good software for driving mutiple LED nets so I can spread moving images over several nets as backdrops. If anyone has seen the current faithless lighting rig, then that kind of thing.
Nothing to see here - move along!

My problem with most of these VJ software is
that I can't access enough different video clips
via MIDI without touching the software and loading
new banks...

That's why I'm still sticking with MidiVid or
MidiVid GPU - http://midivid.jasondorie.com/

It's free and you can access 128 banks using Program
Change and each banks holds 128 MIDI Notes = 128 clips.

Can any other VJ software do this ?

M4L and Livid CellDNA. Both are discounted right now.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

Thanks for this bit of info, Moody. I would never have found the Cell discount ( http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=ad5 ... f30d30dedc ) without your post.

I just got M4L since it's on sale. Now for Cell - it's going to be an interesting long weekend!

Just Add Music 2 is a visual plugin specially built for Ableton live. Use Ableton like you normally do but automatically output visuals/video.
