most underrated parameter to automate
What do u like to automate besides filter freq and return sends? I like attack and decay, time on operator (maybe with osc set to loop), freq on fixed operator osc, feedback on operator, operator osc when in fm mode. dry-wets of all sorts, time on delays and reverbs, drive on saturator & overdrive, downsample and bitreduction on redux, gain on utility... hm thats all that comes to my mind right now.
Mallet stiffness is a cool collision parameter.

this is probably the most underrated thread ever

Well, its a difficult question!
Would perhaps be easier if you asked for "some nice parameters to automate", besides the obious ones.. But I cant come to think of any other then the obious..

no i think it's a very interesting question.
i also think you gave almost all answer i could give. Operator's operators freq are insane when automated. Crazy FM effects.
I'd add start and loop points in simpler, which i use a lot, with undividable lengths to play chords when traveling inside the samples, or on drum sounds.
And arp's rates.

OK, Arp rates is good. Use that a lot. Also Auto Pan rates and Auto Filter rates.

groove, (I would) love to automate the groove amount, sometimes i get really swinging results with this. you cant automate this so I record it direct.

If a beauty contest was held under a bridge, and the judges stood above the contestants....
would they be underrated?
anyway, not at home right now, but you can't assign the 100% of the groove pool meter to a midi control for automation?

I like automating the beat repeat grid size - I usually have that mapped to a knob on my nanokontrol with the button next to it set to momentary on, but drawing in the envelope can yield some excellently brain-hurting glitch sounds, especially using the pencil to make it jump from one size grid to another.

Automating the utility modules phase invert on the left channel has never received the love it deserves!

Re: most underrated parameter to automate
my latest game is routing simple chord changes into an arpegg and automate the rate with a dummy clip. I set the envelope unlinked to an uneven loop, so it oscillates between 1/2 nd 1/16 notes in an unpredictable manner. I use that with the sound of an upright bass. Whow, jazzy bassplayer is that.

Well I WISH we could automate transient envelopes.
