A decent desktop mouse for using with Ableton Live?

Post by lolalola » Mon Apr 25, 2011 1:41 pm

CAn anyone recommend a decent desktop mouse for using with Ableton Live? I tried a Logitech trackball, and that was just horrendous.... So something less 'wacky' is probably what I'm looking for. Ergonomic, intuitive with Live, etc... This is for when I'm working on arranging tracks at home, building up songs demo's, rather than in a live situation. Help!

I've been using an earlier version of this mouse for a while now, and I'm quite happy with it.

I agree my microsoft one died on me so I went to buy a new one. Picked up a logitech one.. my wrist is killing me. i don't think it's so much that the mouse is bad but I never had to think about ergonomics with the old microsoft one.. going back to exchange it.

Intellimouse is a favorite classic!

for a step higher, sidewinder x3 is an excellent value too! Think of it as an Intellimouse 2 with more accuracy, better feel, completely silent wheel, nice slide, adjustable dpi etc.

Logitech MX620 here. Comfortable to use, batteries last months in it, and the clickless scroll wheel is really nice.

I use a Logitech MX Air. It's 'Air' mode isn't particularly useful in live though, but it's still an awesome mouse.

Does it scroll properly in live? (with the wheel)

I had some issues with the scroll on a 'Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000' in Windows 7 that were also reported for the MS Wireless Mouse 5000.
