Cutting off the end slack on a mix
Cutting off the end slack on a mix
Hello,
I made a mix of 9 trance tracks. The last one, which ends on a nice piano finish, finishes at around 58:06, 2006th note. But the actual Arrangement mode goes on to the 2020th note and 58:32 minutes. How do I stop my mix at the time of the last track's ending? So the play bar doesn't continue scrolling through empty sound and mix space?

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
use the stop button?
do you mean how do you remove the empty space when you render it to a file?
I usually add the loop brace to everything I want to export before I render

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
Will the stop button make it so that the mix will stop at the point I choose it to stop in the mix, when the mix is a finished product, so there won't be that 26 seconds of empty sound.
I guess yes to your question relation to the removal of empty space when rendering it to a file. Also, how do you render a mix/track/etc. into an mp3 file from Ableton?
Don't know about loop braces yet; have to read up on that.

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
you cannot render to mp3, you need to do that in a different program
check out the loop brace in the manual if you get stuck, it should do what you want to achieve

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
Thanks.
So all the tracks and mixes one can create in Ableton, cannot be transferred to mp3 format? You speak of a different program for that. What is it called and how does it work?

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
I use sound forge to do that
if you import to an audio editor you can remove the gap using that too

Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
just use ableton to bounce it to wav and use something like iTunes to convert to mp3

sound forge is overkill for what you want to do
Re: Cutting off the end slack on a mix
Yeah, I just found out today that Ableton allows you to export your files in .wav forms (and something called Aiff). So, yeah, converting .wav to mp3 is no problem.
