Hello,
I have a problem in Live when exporting a mix, to be later mastered. I am trying to avoid any clipping on all tracks and channels including the master input and output signal.
The mix I am working on now is a loud dub-step song, as it is very dense and loud, the master fader's input signal is constantly clipping. The first obvious solution to this is to lower the levels of all tracks in the mix by the same amount. Unfortunately, when you do this, it moves the automation from its set position and alters the relative levels in the mix when you click on the red "back to arrangement" button.
Anyone have a solution this problem? Is there a way to trim down all tracks simultaneously without having to break the automation pattern?
Anyone's help is much appreciated, thank you.

Master Fader's Input Clipping!
Re: Master Fader's Input Clipping!
i was going to say lower track volumes....probably the best way
but i guess if you can't do that, use a "limiter" ?

Re: Master Fader's Input Clipping!
Add an Utility plug-in at the end of each track. Then you can use its gain to control your track level without breaking your automation.

Lower the master fader until it no longer clips?
