I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

I had similar issues using Soundflower as stated in this review:
"After some time the audio that is routed to the soundcard starts crackling, and when I switch the routing off and back again everything is normal for some time until it happens again."
However, the reviewer goes on to say:
"The recording however, is nothing wrong with, only the audio out."
I haven't used it for recording yet, so I can't comment on this.
I forgot about Jack, thanks for the reminder.

Soundflower got to fKn buggy for me to use. JackOS does the same thing the "newer" WireTap & is free. Although WireTap is badass - You can just fire it up quickly & instantly record any streaming audio playing. Its practical as hell for taking samples of the interwebs & such However with JackOS you can plug the audio from a browser into a DAW & replicate the same concept.

I tell you one thing, even though Soundflower had been buggy on me in the past, I downloaded it, installed it, & used it in less than 2 minutes.
I did this because I got frustrated trying to make Jack work!
I will give Jack more time (since I never used it before, & only put in about 5 minutes before realizing that it was going to be an uphill climb), but I just wanted to make a quick, short recording & Soundflower got the job done.

It better be, considering the manual is 51 pages long compared to Soundflower's manual which is 2!xzusa8ky wrote:JackOSX is badass and more possibiltys than Soundflower......
