A number of people seem to like KRK. I haven't used them myself so I can't comment further.

Re: Alternative to genelecs ?
One of the great things with genelecs: prices are stable on the second hand marked! Probably because they are considered the standard in tv, film and movie production. Theres a lot of them arround, and they have a very long life. Lots of nice pro info on their web site. worth having a look even if you chose another brand. Adam might sound similare, but ive herd they can have hardware problems. If I sell my 15 years old genelecs, I get the same money back as I payed seconhand, 10 years ago. Usually they are kept nicely in studios, and they even sound better then new ones, when they have been used for a while.Inch Lo wrote:8O wrote:Second-hand Genelecs
Genelecs are your buddy for life.

Anybody have any experiences with the 6010A model/size?
I had the Alesis Mk2 setup, but need a replacement.
My workspace is quite limited, so big monitors are overkill.
But are those little Genelec's capable of doing big sound? Been trying to demo them, but no luck so far.

I heard the 6010s with the sub and was blown away by the sound from them. Great package.hoffman2k wrote:Anybody have any experiences with the 6010A model/size?

I just checked back on some older conversations and reviews and I think the 8020B might get me a more neutral sound. The price isn't that far from the 6010A.Inch Lo wrote:I heard the 6010s with the sub and was blown away by the sound from them. those small genelecs have a heck of a low end
Re: Alternative to genelecs ?
Yup, and there's not really any use for a sub, unless you have a huge room.3dot... wrote:those small genelecs have a heck of a low end
SubFunk is a regular guy around here that knows a lot about Genelec. But I haven't seen him for a good while. Heres a conversation I remember that might be relevant:

CNET likes these:

120 dB sound pressure level output at 20 Hz in their subs!
