Launchpad...Cant get it to show in Preferences

Hi guys...
Using Live 8 Suite 8.2.2

Just got the Launchpad, and when I want to install the Drivers that come on the cd, it says I already got newer drivers as I have a Novation Nocturn, so I obviously didnt install the drivers on the cd. Next, it says I should install Live "Launchpad" edition...but I read somewhere that if i have the latest version of live there is no need to install the "Launchpad" edition...is this correct?
I've done a restart ect and tried a few different things but I just cant get the Launchpad to show in the "Preferences/Midi ports" menu..
Any ideas?

are you selecting it as a control surface? because regardless whether its even plugged in - launchpad should be on the list of support control surfaces in the preferences.

You shouldn't need to install launch pad edition either

What will the input be then? Automap?

no automap if you wanna avoid headaches

Select Launchpad in the pref list then find usb device [win XP] or even simply Launchpad [win7]


You know man there's a manual with plenty of good info about the software...
go page 494 on the english version [pdf file], EVERYTHING is well explained

I was following this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXqBBBjg ... re=related but its real strange, because i select Launchpad as Control surface, But there is no "Launchpad" option under input and output..just Automap, Nocturn keyboard and soundcard..

in ableton midi pref, select LAUNCHPAD then inputs outputs, select usb device.

Plug only Launchpad to your computer and then try

I've selected Launchpad under Control Surface, and under input and output have tried selecting all variations, same for the Midi ports

what os do you use?

Install the latest driver on novationmusic

I use Win 7

So win7 you should see Launchpad named Launchpad

it is simple, just for being sure, try installing new driver
the 2.1 is meant for win7 launchpad stability
