Hi,

Anyone have any decent recommendations for a pair of good desktop monitors with a solid, flat frequency response that I can get for under $500 for the pair?

Im happy with my HS50m.

Look here; http://www.moozek.com/2008/01/09/super- ... ew-ns-10m/

Quite the best to reveal mixing mistakes, but can be unpleasant to listen for recreational use. They are flatter than my first girlfriend with controls at the back to adjust the low, med and high end to fit your room. And they look great!

I noticed that clever people tend to go with the yams while the less gifted and educated crowd goes with the yellow ones..!!

I'm not seeing those enelecs for anything less than $470 each. I'm going to check out the KRK-8s, though. A pair of those'll clock in right at $500. Thanks!

About $100 over what your looking to spend, but well worth it IMO..

ADAM A3X

Also you can't go wrong with the rokits. I'd still be inclined to go with the Adams because of the tweeter, but both are very decent for sure.

Shipping kills it though.

Curious as to which ones you heard.....I'm looking at the A8X's right now for myself. Currently on the A5's and quite happy. Also, for the OP, can you even get genelec's for under 500???? Seems like a stretch, even used? Which ones would you suggest for myself to check out......along the same budget at the A8X's.

Wow! Those look nice. They look like they beat the KRK Rokit-8s in all respects at the same price point. Will definitely be checking them out, although it may be a month until I can since I just dropped some serious $$ on air fare for an act me & some friends are bringing to our fair city in a couple months :)

Wow! I just realized how great of a deal that link is to. Went ahead and ordered them before that price changes.
