This rack allows you to map a range of keys to a chain selector for easy chords and inversions, based on the root note you feed it.
Use one section of the keyboard to trigger notes, and another to select the chord type or inversion, all while staying within the key.
Works great if you are a poor keyboard player! Download the rack here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3301072/Easy%20Chords.adg

Hey,
Thanks for throwing this together. It's super useful and very well put together. Although I'm fairly decent on the keys, this is a great visual alternative when you just wanna lay down something quick. Cheers.

It was well worth watching your video if only for the inspired idea of using an arpegiator to work the chain selector - brilliant !

Re: Easy chords - free midi rack for writing parts
Still loving your rack! I do have a question: would it be possible to send only the root note one track and the chords to another? Thanks in advance

Re: Easy chords - free midi rack for writing parts
set up two channels and record enable both. One will record the root note, and the channel the rack will make all the chords. make sense?
If you are trying to power two different sounds, another easy way is to make an instrument rack with your two instruments in it (on different chains) after the midi rack, and do a key split. The low notes hit one, the high notes hit another. This only works if you want to make chords and play melodies on top, vs the previous idea of making a chord and sending the root note to a bass VST.
these are good ideas to consider!
