Best sounding audio interface under $300?
Best sounding audio interface under $300?
Nooby question for you all -
What would you say is the best sounding audio interface for under $300 new?
I've been thinking about picking up the Native Instruments Audio 6, but I'm having a hard time finding good comparison to justify that. If I can spend less get and get the same or better quality, that would be awesome. Thanks for the help.

being the best audio engineer in the southeast west side northern milky way i recommend t.c. electronic konnekt 6
i also want to go on record as saying it doesn't matter what you need it for, what type of connections you intend to plug into it, or whether you prefer USB or Firewire... and that "best sounding" is absolutely not subjective.

Prestigious responders! I like the looks of the TC and I'm sure the Roland is great, but I'm USB only. Should have mentioned that.

Get a PCI firewire extension card with TI chipset and get yourself an Audifire2 or Audiofire4 from Echo. Built like a tank, superb sound (uses same AD/DA-chips as the much more expensive RME interfaces) and quality drivers. You'll not regret it!

probably the best advice so far.simpleton wrote:You wanna go future proof. You wanna go USB 2.0 You want Scarlett.
performance differences between USB and firewire are negligible. the "buy what I have" advice is weak.
it mostly depends on how many inputs and outputs you need. then look at the market and see what fits the bill.
