828mk3: What a waste of half an hour
I hope L9 does finally support CoreAudio I/O names. How difficult can it be? I just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to track down the right I/O again from the cryptic list of 24 and I still can't work out where it's gone even though I RTFM...
I've now turned off all the ADAT digital outs, and Main Out and Phones are set to mirror Analog Outputs 1/2.
I've also turned off all the ADAT ins.
This means the driver should now only have:
In 1/2 = Mic/Instrument In 1/2
In 3/4 = Analog TRS In 1/2
In 5/6 = Analog TRS In 3/4
In 7/8 = Analog TRS In 5/6
In 9/10 = Analog TRS In 7/8
In 11/12 = Reverb Returns
In 13/14 = Return Assign (for bouncing mixes via the 828mk3)
In 15/16 = SPDIF In L/R
Out 1/2 = Analog Outs 1/2 + Main Outs + Phones 1/2
Out 3/4 = Analog Outs 3/4
Out 5/6 = Analog Outs 5/6
Out 7/8 = Analog Outs 7/8
Out 9/10 = SPDIF Outs L/R
I still seem to have 14 outs though! The MOTU manual says SPDIF should normally be 14, but if Mains and Phones are set to mirror they disappear and the list should shrink by two for each. Huh? I should only have 10 outs now! FFS.
On I brighter note I should be getting my APC tomorrow!

Re: 828mk3: What a waste of half an hour
After rebooting things it seemed to sort itself out. God knows why as I still have the same number of outs and haven't changed anything!
Still appears to have too much I/O still, but it appears I can work out what's supposed to be there using Mac Audio MIDI setup.
Bring on the CoreAudio I/O naming though Abes, and save me all this...

Oh, no. Maybe I should cancel the order or my sig will become too offensively big. There's actually a borrowed Orange 4x12 on the end instead atm, and I'm on 10.6.8 and 8.2.4b2!H20nly wrote:we expect your sig to be updated when you do.

WTF? Now I do have only 10 outs in Live as I originally expected!
God knows. It works so I'll get on with it and just have to re-invent the wheel again in 4 months or so...
(or more the point, I'm bored at work)

It's not wrong enough yet! It only gets updated when I've had enough chance to actually use any of the stuff that's not in it!H20nly wrote:now fix your sig

What kind of desk and monitors do you have? Your signature doesn't quite tell us.

You should bring this to the attention of some of the newbies wanting all the biggest and best hardware...

Oh I love it when that shit happens.

I have a hi-fi with some floorstanding speakers! Hence they don't make it into the proper list!timothyallan wrote:What kind of desk and monitors do you have? Your signature doesn't quite tell us.
