turning looping off for newly recorded MIDI Clips?

Post by xXxKoPxXx » Sat Jul 02, 2011 1:38 pm

I want to be able to record MIDI into new clips but have the loop option off by default instead of manually always having to turn off loop. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hi mate,

If you press a stop button, rather than the red launch button again, then the MIDI Clip will stop rather than immediately start looping.

Is that what you mean?

Cheers, Tom.

No I want to have the loop button turned of by default so that my clips are just one shots.

Thanks!

hi,
it´s in the preferences under the record tab.
warp/fades
the first entry should read like "loop/warp short samples"
(german version here, so i don´t know the exact naming)
under the pop menu you should have different options, that should do the trick.

+1... I've just requested this on ableton.centercode.com, but I doubt they'll do anything about it. I'm having second thoughts about Live. I bought a Live 11 + Push 2 package a few days ago and the store won't be able to deliver until mid-August due to Covid-19-related supply shortages, so I still can cancel my order. Bitwig seem to be catching up fast.

I bet it can but nobody cares. We shouldn't have to rely on third-party hacks to get basic functionality.

this is an essential for me since years...

+1 for unwarped tracks. I'd love an option to disabling warping by default.

I'd be interested to have new clips not looping too.
