Post by emotionz22 » Thu Jul 14, 2011 6:26 am

I know it takes a lot of money to buy good quality equipment but im just not financially stable to buy a Project mix i.o lol so i was wondering if anybody knew of something cheaper say under 200$ ...i guess you could say im looking for a mixer interface digitally to control the mixer in Ableton like the Project mix

try one of these

small footprint. easy to use to control an entire mix. cheap

I have been using one of these for a couple of months now and couldn't imagine not having it on my desk.

those would be some controllers in your price range:

- Behringer BCF/BCR2000
- APC 20
- Korg NanoKontrol
- Novation Launchpad (can be used for mixin g as well)
- or faderfoxes: http://www.faderfox.de/mark/

As soon as i finished uni 6 years ago i saved up my $3000 aus and bought a project mix. It still works brilliantly and is the core to my studio. workflow improved and it is just a brilliant little unit. the only problem that i have is that my studio has surpassed the 8 analogue inputs and i need more ins. I only wish you could daisy chain more than one cause id get another in a flash. insted im thinking of a profire 2626 to lightpipe in.
I think what im trying to say is that currently at around $800 new on ebay they are ridiculously good value and have the benefit of being protools compatible. they last, they work like theys say they will and it is just so damn cool to watch those motorised faders go up and down up and down up and down............
I say save up the extra $600 on the 200 you want to spend and get one.
