This is all about MONEY and a quick fix and people will buy it and try to get there 15 minutes of fame and still not know a damn thing about music.

of course it's a total marketing ploy... but it's obviously not marketed at musicians/producers...

I reckon that for a 8-14 year old who wants to make beats, this could be a good way into getting a few basic concepts, like critical listening of mix levels, and just exploring the process of recording vocals.

I see no problem with this at all.... as music software can be a bit boggling for young kids... this seems like the right level of instant gratification and simple interface for that tween/teen market. And if they get interested in the process, and want to explore it further by getting some real software, then awesome!
