2 Live Projects at once?
2 Live Projects at once?
I was wondering if there's a way to have multiple live projects open at once. I'm used to working in DAW's that will allow me to open more than one project and copy and paste midi and audio (and other things) from one session to another. It’s also helpful to see your other projects to know were things are and how many bars you used to cretin songs.

Live won't allow you to have two sessions open at the same time. Though, from the left browser, you could drag over another entire session into you current sessions. Try grouping your current session which will make it into one grouped track. Then drag over the other session and group that. Then start arranging the clips and scenes so the two sessions are how you want them to be.

Reality is that it's "Mac" and two different installed versions side by side under different names, like Live 9.6.2 and Live (or the beta) can be opened. However the suggested workaround will work better, except for returns and master (workaround for that is using an effects rack).Da hand wrote: MAC: One cannot open multiple instances of Live

Re: 2 Live Projects at once?
This is intensely WEIRD, you would except a *nix family operating system such as macOS to be able to run multiple instances, but ALAS no.
I wonder if support is ever going to come Mac? I would love to have two Ableton 10 projects open at the same time...

You can open two instances of Live on a Mac, by going to the "Terminal" and typing "open -n " then dragging the Ableton icon from finder to the terminal to complete the line.

Well if you have dual or triple monitors you can. Only if you know how to do itStromkraft wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2016 11:34 amReality is that it's "Mac" and two different installed versions side by side under different names, like Live 9.6.2 and Live (or the beta) can be opened.
