hi
hi: i just used my ib00k600 (osX, live 1.5, 384mb ram) and it rocked...not a single glitch. i had 3 live "channels" running and would switch patterns quite quickly. each channel had about 3 effects, and the send 1 had 3 effects. not too much response lag, maybe a lil response lag on sweeping the little freq dots in the eq, but it was ok..
WAY fun. ibooks are fun.

thanx for the twin iBook tip - but I want to run Logic on it as well and have only one xskey - what to do about that
maybe reaktor and live on one and logic on the other..... good thought... still the top-of-the-line ibook times two is more expensive than the smallest powerbook
have you got a clue how to sync the two ibooks?

Hey Astromass,
Try using 8 -10 tracks and see what your performance is like. Track count eats up CPU performance real fast. I'm trying very hard to imagine how I could mix a song using only 3 tracks. That would be a lot of mouse clicking between clips and I would probably miss a lot! I keep maybe 3 or four clips per track and use 6-10 tracks for a basic song. Do you use a controller surface?

nuts to the top of the line ibook, if you're gonna spend that type of money, you might as well drop a few hundred more and get a tibook. nab up a couple 600's and do exactly what you said, run logic on one and reaktor and live on the other. i guarantee that you'll have better performance spreading your apps out over a few machines than trying to cram it all into one, even if it is a rippin' tibook. as for sync, just run some midi action between the two. if you only need midi for sync, just use two of those little 1x1 midisport guys.
