Take a look at some of the room kits that GIK does first. I was going to make mine as well to save some money, but the GIK ones are only slightly more than what it would have cost me to make them myself. They probably look nicer too.

Highlights the fact that for good music production and mixing you don't need tons of equipment, just your ears... and the acoutic treatment to make sure your ears are hearing the right thing!
