How so? I've got a DJM3000 and a buddy has a DJM800 and we love them. I've never understood people hating on the Pioneer mixers. Yeah, people punching in effects at full volume on the master/program channel are obnoxious but that's hardly the fault of the mixer (well, the DJM500 didn't give you any choice with respect to effects volume but it was the first that had them buit in).

i'm not really knocking the pioneer mixer. it's obviously one of the more popular mixers here in the US, but what would you want or need a software equivalent of it for? it's not a studio mixer, nor would it make for good mastering.

The separation of sounds and warmth if applied right, especially to a production's master track. Any ideas?

I have a DJM800 sitting next to me right now. I don't think I'd ever want to run stuff through there for the purpose of re-recording unless I was going to use the effects? How does a DJ mixer separate sounds and warmth if applied right?

What's your aim? Get muddy low-mids? Use it as an overdrive? ;)
