NowTime -

Ok.. if you cannot get back to a pre- USB frak up OS..
Then ya got no choice but to charge ahead and Update, Update, Update.
Update everything as possible (drivers, combined OSX updates, whatevs).
Then Repair Permissions (disk utility).
Reboot.
and try one Behringer at a time.. no USB hub of any kind.
Note those results and go from there.
2.8ghz Quad Mac, Live 9.77, Remote25, Maschine 1, Fa-66 optical link, Samson 65a. Dog hair.. lots.

I’m convinced some people are just cursed when it comes to Apple products. Mixed in with the usually stellar reviews you’ll find the occasional “I just got my forth replacement…. and AHHHHHH!!”

I use to tell my wife she was negatively charged. :) For 3 years we ran identical laptops, with almost the same software, and she'd always run into weird quirky issues and I never had anything but smooth sailing.

+1
Similar story here.. she just seemed to bring some off mojo.
Until..
I revoked her admin status on her profile..
Now only I can admin the computer, install software, run updates. etc.

Truly it has been smooth sailing ever since.
Once in a while I get asked to 'troubleshoot'.. but that usually involves unplugging the router and plugging it back in.

I don't buy Apple products anymore simply because of astronomical spare part prices. If warranty is over and you get into the hands of Apples repair services you are fucked. A Mac Pro motherboard costs over 1000.-€. Its just insane...

So the problem was Takeover Mode in Live's preferneces. How embarassing

It defaulted to jump or some such, set it where it should have been to "none".

Now everything works peachy! Except for my Apiotek EC24 card (quad USB hub) which just crashes the computer.

Yes, er... Well, don't let that put a stop to your Apple tantrum! I'm sure Steve Jobs is partial to pickup takeover.

I always marvel at the arrogance of people who assume a fault in a massive corporation over the possibility of simple human error - not conducive to finding a solution is it?
Unless of course it was just mischief-making - plenty of people fell for it - no shortage of people queuing to take part as per usual.
